Learn Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam or Kuchipudi live from Kerala, at a time that works in London, Manchester, Birmingham and across the UK and Ireland. Malayali families in the UK and Ireland learn with us online.
How it works from here
Classes are live over video, one hour each, four times a month. Arunima Raj teaches every class herself and corrects each student on screen as they dance. Nothing is pre-recorded.
Batches are small. Classes run in English or Malayalam, whichever your family prefers, and a recording of the class is sent on request so your child can practise during the week.
Finding a time that works
The UK is the easiest time zone for us. A weekend morning in the UK is the Kerala afternoon, and an early weekday evening in the UK is the Kerala night.
Kerala does not change its clocks, so the gap moves by an hour when yours change. The exact timing is agreed with you on WhatsApp.

Who teaches
Arunima Raj founded Narthaki in 2020. She holds an MA in Bharatanatyam from Kannur University (second rank) and a Diploma in Bharatanatyam, and trained under Kalamandalam Latha and Kalamandalam Leelamani. Forty-five of her students have completed their arangetram.
Questions
Can my child learn Bharatanatyam online from the UK?+
Yes. Classes are live over video with real-time correction, timed around the UK time. Many of our online students are Malayali families abroad.
What do we need at home?+
A stable internet connection, a phone or laptop with a camera placed so the teacher can see the feet, and about two metres of clear floor.
Are classes in Malayalam?+
Classes run in Malayalam or English, whichever your child follows better.
